Mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) is a critical component
of the United Nations Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and
Adolescents’ Health for 2016-2030. UNICEF sees mental health as a
collaboration across sectors including health, education, child
protection, social protection, and gender.
Since 2018, UNICEF India country office’s Child Protection group has
brought a greater focus on mental health and psychosocial support in the
strategic priorities working closely with the WHO, Ministry of Women and
Child Development (MWCD), state governments, National Disaster
Management Authority (NDMA), child rescue and rehab services, and
National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS).
In 2021, UNICEF India country office joined forces with BringChange
Foundation Inc. to nurture wellbeing at scale and to empower over 1.2
million individuals utilizing TrustCircle’s globally acclaimed
social-emotional learning platform.
The Covid-19 pandemic represents an unprecedented crisis posing a threat
to public health and severely affecting societies around the globe, but
the way they have been impacted varies greatly.
Further to its contribution to several initiatives in Belgium and India,
and struck by the significant variation of impact of the pandemic on
communities across the regions where it’s active, Sofina has launched
the Sofina Covid Solidarity Fund, managed by the King Baudouin
Foundation.
In line with the aspirations of its stakeholders and the company’s
strategic direction, the Sofina Covid Solidarity Fund addresses the
adverse consequences of the global Covid-19 pandemic on two key issues
related to its focus sectors: specific challenges in healthcare systems
and services and the digital gap in education.
The King Baudouin Foundation’s mission is to contribute to building a
better society in Belgium, Europe and elsewhere in the world.
The Foundation is an actor for change and innovation, serving the public
interest and increasing social cohesion. We endeavour to maximise our
impact through capacity building among organisations and people who
contribute to building a better society. We encourage effective
philanthropy among individuals and businesses in Belgium, Europe and
around the world.
